Our firm regularly provides assistance to other lawyers and law firms with questions arising out of their professional liability insurance policies. We help our clients decide whether or not notice should be given under a professional liability policy and, if suit is filed, how to insure that competent defense counsel is retained by the liability carrier. If liability claims are denied in whole or in part, we also work with our clients to put them in the best position to maximize their insurance coverage. Because of our firm’s national prominence in insurance coverage litigation, we are extremely familiar with professional liability policies and the case law interpreting their terms. We use this expertise to give our clients the best arguments for establishing coverage if it ever appears in doubt. In the event of coverage or policy limits problems, we can also serve as independent counsel to lawyers and law firms in professional malpractice claims in order to insure that our client’s interest are fully protected at all times.
