Overview

Chris focuses his practice on defending insurance carriers in bad faith disputes, including first-party claims and coverage matters. He knows the issues, players, and venues at a deep level, particularly in Texas. Chris began practicing law shortly after Hurricane Ike, where he immediately started handling his own docket of first-party property disputes, as well as coverage analyses. During that time, he has worked with carriers to analyze complicated claims to avoid suit, or if litigation is necessary, to put the carrier in the best position to defend itself in hostile venues.

Chris is also a scholar and author that is one of the first attorneys in Texas to be Board Certified in Insurance Law. He is also currently an Officer of the State Bar of Texas Insurance Section, as well as President of the Houston Chapter for CLM. A listing of Chris’s articles and presentations can be found in the News & Insights tab. Chris has also been recognized for several years as a Super Lawyers – Rising Star and a Best Lawyers “One to Watch”
