Overview
Maria C. Diaz is a native Houstonian and joined Martin Disiere Jefferson & Wisdom in December 2024. She received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Houston - Downtown. She obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and was licensed to practice law in Texas in 2017. While in law school, Maria was an active member of the American Indian Law Review and volunteered her time to Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma. Maria interned for civil litigation boutique firms in both Houston, Texas and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma handling Plaintiff's personal injury lawsuits.
Maria began her legal career practicing immigration and disaster law at a recognized non-profit organization as a Legal Fellow for Equal Justice Works. Since beginning her legal career, she has represented numerous clients in personal injury litigation (products and premises liability). Maria has worked on a variety of cases, including transportation litigation, as well as defending clients, such as apartment complexes, hotels, restaurants, and retail stores in premises liability claims. Maria's areas of concentration include personal injury, premises liability, commercial liability, and third-party insurance defense
In her free time, Maria enjoys traveling, volunteering, and rooting for the Houston Astros, Texans, and Rockets with her husband. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as her dog, Chunk.
